Katherine Kearney Carpenter
Dog Park, located at 801 W.
Zedler lane Mequon, WI, is a
huge area that rivals and may
even surpass in sheer volume
the mighty Runway Dog
Exercise Area on Rawson.  This
dog park is so massive, it
apparently requires a parking
lot at each end, a pleasant
convenience on those days
when the main lot is full.  The
main parking lot, on Zedler, is
paved but not fenced in.  In
fact the entire park is fence-less and open to the surrounding traffic.
Though it is considered off-leash, Katherine K. Carpenter Dog Park may
not be for the independent minded dog who will not come when called.
Even owners whose dogs are obedient should exercise caution when the
trail approaches the park’s edges.  The main trails are gravel and well
kept.  Many smaller dirt trails compliment the thick wooded areas.
There are many touching memorial plaques to pets and their owners.
The back parking lot is also paved and open to the highway.  It
conveniently abuts the main trail for those owners who wish to avoid a
crowd of milling dogs at the main lot.  There is a river for those hot
summer days and many spots were the enterprising Labrador can become
slathered in mud.  Very cool doggie bag dispensers made from milk bottles
hang along the trails.  All in all Katherine Kearney Carpenter Dog Park is
an amazing and fun walk for both humans and dogs.  CLICK HERE for park
