Nashotah dog park, located at
W330N5113 County Road C
Waukesha, WI 53058 (262) 367-
1022, is not, as some might
expect, a carbon copy of it’s
sister dog park Minooka.
Though the two dog havens
share a number of
characteristics in common
such as gate design and human
outhouse construction, they
differ in a few important respects.
First and probably the most
important, especially with the
hot days of summer ahead,
Nashotah dog park has a water
faucet with a hose on a cement
patio installed in each paddock,                  Click here for park notices
the large breed and the small      Click here for a pics of the  payment envelope
breed areas.  To my knowledge, no other dog park in the area contains this amenity.
Secondly, Nashotah dog park has a more open (less wooded) feel to it than Minooka with
generous open prairie acreage and a blue bird habitat trail.  Lastly, perhaps a negative
difference (certainly an inconvenience if you plan to visit both paddocks) the entrances to
the large breed area and the small breed area are very nearly a quarter mile separated
from each other!  At Minooka dog park, the owner of a medium sized breed or large breed
puppy could travel from one paddock to the next just for variety’s sake without too much
trouble, the entrances there being separated by perhaps twenty meters.  The distance
between the two entrances at Nashotah is so great that each has it’s own parking lot, no
doubt at considerable additional expense.  I visited Nashotah late April 2010 with my wife
and a gaggle of my own and a friend’s dogs, and we had a great afternoon’s fun in the hot
sun especially with the convenience of a quick cooling down from the water hose.
